What do reviewers and users say about
BEHIND THE DESK WORKOUT?

"This isn't your ordinary ergonomics or exercise handbook. BEHIND THE DESK WORKOUT is filled with professional knowledge and a workable program to help stop the hurting and make you more productive. Hundreds of my students have benefited from hearing Joan's seminar. The message is timely and practical. Incidentally, it can be fun, too!" Dr. R.J.Banis, University Computer Teacher, Saint Louis, Missouri.

"After reading BEHIND THE DESK WORKOUT I now know how to set up my office ergonomically. I also liked the emphasis on CUE's. The exercises can be done by anyone, anytime and anywhere." Marsha Hickey, Computer Programmer, San Diego, California.

"BEHIND THE DESK WORKOUT would be an excellent manual for employers to use to educate their employees. It provides an upbeat and positive approach to exercise and work." Sandra Martin, Wellness Consultant, Saint Louis, Missouri

"BEHIND THE DESK WORKOUT provides simple exercises that can be done quite easily. Most people assume that to stay in shape it takes a good chunk of time and a health club membership. The author has made it easy to achieve good health along with a positive working environment." Becky Unger, Ergonomist, Dayton, Ohio.

As a worker who sits at a computer desk all day BEHIND THE DESK WORKOUT is very informative. I learned a lot about ways to avoid injuries and warning signs of when to take a break or change positions. After reading BEHIND THE DESK WORKOUT I now know the signs and symptoms of cumulative trauma disorders. Lisa Vorenberg, secretary, Saint Louis, Missouri.

The quality and content of this book are good. It relates to people of all levels--employers and employees without pointing fingers or blaming anyone for inefficient work areas. The graphics add a "light touch" to what could be a very technical document. I have never seen any other documents as comprehensive as BEHIND THE DESK WORKOUT. All sections serve an important purpose. Patsy Francis, Desktop Publisher, Herculaneum, Missouri.

I found the exercise portion of this book to be the most important and helpful for me. The exercises are good because they don't require equipment that isn't readily available and the exercises can be performed without difficulty. BEHIND THE DESK WORKOUT promotes a healthy working environment and a healthy self-and- positive-attitude. All these contribute to motivational skills. Kathy Mantz, editor/marketing, Cahokia, Illinois.

I particularly like the section addressing "stress". Other resources do not cover stress adequately and I think it is a growing factor as "down-sizing" is occurring everywhere and the workloads are being redistributed. Anne Roesler, RN, Vernon, Connecticut.

BEHIND THE DESK WORKOUT covers a broad scope of information. Most references I have read only cover ergonomics or only cover fitness or only cover stretching. BEHIND THE DESK WORKOUT covers a variety of topics which is a benefit to the book. I like the section on stretching and flexibility the best. Craig Russell, health and safety executive, Saint Louis, Missouri.

I found BEHIND THE DESK WORKOUT to be educational, easy to read and flowed nicely. I would most certainly buy a copy for our medical department at work. BEHIND THE DESK WORKOUT is well organized and provides a considerable amount of useful information for anyone who works at a computer. Carl Polson, Mining Personnel Director, Rock Springs, Wyoming.

BEHIND THE DESK WORKOUT covers Cumulative Trauma Disorders very thoroughly. Correct posture is an important part of life and a learned development necessary for good health as demonstrated in the book. The exercises are well covered. Ruby Frank, President, Frank's Temporaries. Saint Charles, Illinois.
